Windows 10: How do I access my files through a non-responding file explorer and how clear my recycle...

My one drive is almost full and as a result my file explorer isn't loading up/responding. I then go to delete files from my onedrive online and I am unable to delete a folder of around 3.7GB. So i go to delete them in smaller groups but when i got to select all or a group of files in the recycle bin, there is no option to delete. How do I adequately clear my onedrive and fix my file explorer?

File Explorer Not Responding

Hi,

I am following very clear instructions online in order to fix File Explorer Not Responding on my brand new computer. Instructions I am following are at this link: https://www.****/knowledge/windows-10-file-explorer-wont-open-solved/

I can get as far as Step 4 where I try to right click on Quick Access within the File Explorer but because it is Not Responding this action does not work and I have to close File Explorer.

Does anyone have suggestions for how to get around this when File Explorer is Not Responding?

Alternatively, should I consider storing larger files in a different drive of the computer?

A little background: I have had this computer that came loaded with Windows 10 for about 1 month. The File Explorer would not respond when I first started using it (transferring in new files), and again recently when I have tried saving several (large) design
files from Illustrator. This may be the culprit for it's bogging down; either that or perhaps because I just deleted 1000's of emails off of gmail? My text display size is at 100%.

I discovered that I had a folder in File Explorer's Quick Access list that no longer existed.

I used the instructions in:

How to Clean Up and Tame Quick Access in Windows 10

to clear the Quick Access list and the Not Responding problem was solved.

 

File explorer not responding

Evening.

I'm having an issue with the file explorer. I'm trying to have a clear out of old files in the downloads folder, but every time I try to delete a file it stops working. The blue bar at the top just says 'File explorer (not responding)'. I've tried restarting
my laptop and it still keeps doing it. Any suggestions??
