Windows 10: How Do I Activate Windows 10?

Hi! My dad bought a Dell laptop that came with Windows 7 Home on it. Later on, he upgraded to Win10. A while after that, it stopped working and he bought a new one. He gave it to me I have recently recovered it by reinstalling Windows. Silly me, I forgot to keep track of the product key! After reinstalling, to get dark mode, autohide taskbar and hide activate windows prompts I had to mess around with the Registry Editor until I found the right values. I don't want to do this anymore and would like to be using a legitimate copy of windows. The activation code is on a sticker on the bo

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
