Windows 10: How do I add a pressure dead zone to pen and touch?

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga laptop with a pen and touch screen. When writing it detects pressure on the screen even if the pen is not touching. This leads to all words and characters being joined with feint streaks (or large ones if the software doesn't do pressure). I don't know if this is a hardware issue or if the pen and touch is just poor, but it means that any notes I make are often very hard to read. This is an example of the issue:



I think this could be fixed by adding a 5-10% deadzone to the stylus, so that the pressure reads as 0 unless it goes beyond that threshold. This is often used for joysticks and analogue sticks to prevent erroneous inputs.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Resistive touch or Capacitive Touch? A soft flexible overlay usually means resistive touch, and hard gorilla glass means capacitive.
Original stylus or purchased separately? Fine tip or nubby tip?

 

Hi Alphanumeric. The screen is capacitive, and I am using the original, fine-tipped stylus.

 

Ok, capacitive touch doesn't work on pressure. It works by detecting the change in capacitance due to your finger tip being in close proximity. Or a stylus simulating your finger tip. All the stylus I have that will work with my capacitive touch screen are the blunt tipped nubby ones. The fine tipped Teflon ones won't work at all. Its obviously oversensitive, ideally you don't want it to detect until the stylus actually touches the screen. How you adjust that I don't know. The only touch screen I have is connected to my Raspberry PI which runs Linux. I have to actually touch the screen for my stylus to be detected. That stylus didn't come with the screen though. It was bought separately. Google how to calibrate it and you might get lucky and find an answer.
