Windows 10: How do I add my kid's email address to my account

My eight year old got a new laptop today so we started setting it up and it was easy. At the end it said that we need to enter the code that was sent to my son's new email address. The problem is, that I can't add his email address to my gmail. Nothing seems to work and without the code he can't use his laptop. I wish I could just restart the laptop sign up and used my account instead.

We recently purchased a desktop for my kids homework. Currently I have a family account and they have used it primarily for an xbox. One have my kids uses his account with an old email address that they all used to share. Now that he is a bit older he has his own email. Can I update the email address on his account? Thanks,

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

Are you saying on this new computer, you want your kids to have their own account for each of them?

The correct way to set this up is - make sure the main account, which is the admin account, should be the family organizer's account, not the kid's account.

Once you have the main account set up with your Microsoft account, you can go to Settings > Accounts > Family, find your family members listed on that page. You just need to change the "can't sign in" to "allow sign in". Upon restart, their user will appear on the lower left and can be selected to sign in.

Note: in order for their email addresses to show up on Settings > Accounts > Family, you need to make sure they are your family group members first.
