Windows 10: How do I allow a user full access to do anything with my files except delete them?

Please read the details of this question before answering.


First, I know that what I'm asking is possible because a former employer was set up this way.


Second, I know that the ability to change permissions, over-write and move files means a motivated user will still be able to delete files. That's fine. I am looking to prevent accidental deletion, not malicious users. The solution does not need to be bullet-proof.


Third, do not use the words "modify" or "write" in your answer except to refer to the Windows 10 permissions, because otherwise this thread will fill up with people pointing out that "modify" and "write" include permission to delete by definition.


Fourth, it is a valid answer to refer to third party programs that do this.

Facebook Allows Users to Delete Accounts

Yes, for quite some time, once you had a Facebook account, it wasn't going anywhere. Now, fortunately for college students and people with no attention span everywhere, Facebook now allows said people to delete their Facebook accounts. This was in direct response to user complaints about not being able to delete their accounts, if desired. Even if users were able to delete their own accounts, there were no obvious directions on how to do that. Another reason that Facebook decided to allow users to delete their accounts was a reason that could have gotten Facebook sued if they did not address it: privacy. The "I didn't actually make a Facebook" E-mails were really racking up in Facebook's inbox, and Facebook sometimes made it all too easy for people to research intimate/private/personal details of users' lives. At this point, deleting your account is just a help-page away. Facebook admins are considering adding a "delete account" button.

File history on USB security user access

Hi,

To isolate this concern, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File History folder.
• Select all the files that you don't want to be accessed.
• Right-click on the highlighted files and choose Properties.
  
• Go to Security tab.
• Click on Advanced.
• Select all the user account that you don't want to have access on your File History folder.
• Click on Disable inheritance.
• Lastly, click on OK.

Stored profile will not allow my user account to access some files


This is a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L55t with Windows 10. I have had several instances where access to a file is blocked because of a stored profile. My user account is administrator and it should allow access to any file. I found the stored profile but I can't find any way to change it so I can access all files on my laptop. Do you have any suggestions that will help me solve the problem. Thank you
