Windows 10: How do I backup the structure of the windows 10 customized folder icons?

I have a tendency to customize many folders' icons throughout my windows system. just one example:The problem: Every time I migrate to a new computer or reinstall windows, I have to manually redefine each folder's custom icon. I looked everywhere for a software that will allow me to back up and restore these folders' icons automatically, but the only useful solutions I could find was to simply make complete disk image backups of the entire system. The thing is, I prefer to only have clean installs and then populate the system with my backed up folder structure with its customized folder icon s

In ccleaner, did you uncheck cleaning the icon cache... have not used in a while; however, I think that is what the option is called.

Now, if you are setting the icons and they move after you have set the settings and not changed them... you may have the "Random Windows 10 Icon movement problem".
Some people have this and some don't.

Windows 10 | Can no longer customize folder icons in windows exporer?

Hey guys,

my PC is running Windows 10 Pro. The system partition is located on drive C, while most of the folder structure ist on drive D. I reckognized that when rightclicking on a folder and going to the settings while on drive C, the menu features a ''customize''
option which does not appear when rightclicking on folders
at drive D. My first obvious question is why?

Until recently my workaroud was to copy the folder to the desktop (drive C) and customize the
folder icons there and afterwards move it to the folder structure at drive D. In doing so I made sure that the folder icon would be displayed in the target location. From one day to the next this no longer works and the folder icon is
reset to the Win 10 stock folder icon the moment the copied folder is pasted into the folder structure at drive D. Those customized folders that already are at D still feature my customized icons. Why is that happening? And
more importantly, how can I change it as I can no longer customize my folder structure?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
