    How do I burn a data CD using Windows 10?


    I tried burning a data CD using Windows 10 and selecting to burn as a CD, since I did not want any of my files deleted. I would get stuck with the message showing all my files are ready to burn, but it would never proceed to burn to disc. Out of frustration, I decided to see if I could burn the same files as a USB flash to the CD and that did work. I'm not sure why my data files could only be burned to disc as a USB flash, but trying this method may help other people who can't seem to burn their data CDs as a CD.

    Burning photos to a CD Disc

    Hi Jimmy,

    We suggest that you use Windows Media Player to burn the images. Please follow the steps below:

    • Open Windows Media Player.
    • In the Player Library > Burn tab > select
      Burn options      .
    • Choose Audio CD or Data CD or DVD.
    • Insert a blank disc into your CD or DVD burner. (Select the drive you want to use if your PC has more than one CD or DVD drive)
    • Search for the items in your Player Library that you want to burn to the disc, and then drag them to the list pane (on the right side of the Player Library) to create a burn list.
    • When you're finished with the list, select Start burn.
    Note: If necessary, click the Clear list button to remove all items from the previous burn list.

    I suggest you to follow below steps to burn cd and check if it helps.

    • Insert CD/DVD.
    • Open the CD/DVD drive in File explorer
      icon from the taskbar, copy and paste the required document to the
      CD/DVD drive.
    • Click on Burn a Disc.

    How do I burn a data CD using Windows 10?

    Windows Media Player burn data CD

    Need to burn a data CD but when I drag files into burn list, they won't list and go back to their destination when mouse is released.
    I have watched loads of tutorials and am certain I am following the correct procedure.
    Open WMP, go to 'burn' drop down menu and select 'Data CD'. But files aren't accepted in Burn List? Must be missing something that is obvious?
