    How Do I Change a Wired Connection Profile


    In the Control Panel-Network Connections box the Ethernet interface is showing a wireless connection. How do I change the profile used for that connection. The correct profile already exists in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles but isn't being used, it's deferring to one of the wireless profiles.

    Hi,



    Use these commands in command prompt to delete the profiles.

    Follow the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X.
    • Select Command prompt(admin).
    • Type the following command:
    delete profile interface="Local Area Connection"

    delete profile interface=L*

    For more information, I would suggest you to refer to this section 'delete profile' in the article provided.
