Windows 10: How do I change allocated virtual memory space on a drive that is broken and unable to...

Recently my 1TB seagate drive decided to go and break after developing SMART errors that my system did not warn me about at all until it was too late to do anything to recover the drive or any of the data on it. Literally one minute it was working and the next the computer had reset, and the drive refused to show up on the PC anymore. After resetting again I would be forced into BIOS because I was getting a SMART drive error for the drive where it seemed impossible to fix. I tried using disk drill to recover the files, but doing a deep scan not only revealed an ever-growing number of bad secto

Virtual memory problem

My system disk is a 256GB SSD.

I use a 128 GB SSD (drive letter A for temporary files incl. Virtual memory.

I have 8GBmemory.

I specified a virtual memory size of 4096 to 8192 MBs on A: and none on any other drives.

On booting I get a message, that Windows has a problem with the virtual memory and creates one of its own, size 1053 MB.

when I check the Virtual Memory allocation in the spec panel, it is as I specified it, but the Pagefile.sys is on the C: drive instead of on A:‼

This is annoying, because after each major change to C: I make 2 backup copies (clones), where the Pagefile and swapfile get also copied, which wastes space and time (This waste applies to the hybernate.sys file too, but I see that it must be on C

As the above description is not clean provide us the additional information to assist you better with this issue:

• What exactly do you mean by: "I mirrored my hard drive"?
• Are you accessing these drives as an external hard drive/ internal hard drive?
• How exactly are you trying to allocate the memory?
• What exactly do you see when you access Disk Management (Press Windows + R
  keys, type diskmgmt.msc and hit Enter)?

Unable to allocate memory on hard drive with error message: "No space available"

To mirror the drive I used an Apricorn USB adapter to externally mirror to an internal hard drive. In the Disk Management, I see an unallocated partition, which is about half the drives size, my C: drive, and three 'healthy' partitions. I was attempting
to allocate more memory through the Disk Management, then I saw online that you can do it through CMD, so I tried that, which gave the error that it was an invalid process. The program to mirror is "
EZ Gig IV Cloning Software with Data Select for Windows" when attempting to use Disk Management to allocate the memory it gives the error "There is not enough space available on the disk to complete this operation." This error is
still given after reducing the size by half.



Disk 1 is an external Hard Drive and Disk 0 is the cloned Hard drive.
