Windows 10: How do I change my default browser in Outlook 365?

I want all Outlook 365 email links to take me to my default browser -- whether that be Chrome or Firefox. NOT Microsoft Edge.Found a lot of suggestions with Google.But have yet to find the magic bullet i.e., solution short of uninstalling Microsoft Edge.

When sharing an excel file I prefer to share as an email attachment. However, Outlook 365 is not listed as an option. Is there a way to have outlook 365 as a default email app?

 

Default Browser Keeps Changing to Edge

There are three other ways to set your default program. In Default apps, navigate the page to find the following:

• Choose default apps by file type
  
• Choose default apps by protocol
  
• Set defaults by app
  

To manually change your default browser, follow these steps:

• Set your preferred default browser to skip Choose default apps by file type. Click
  Choose default apps by protocol then look for HTTP and HTTPS. Change them to your preferred browser.
  
• After that, click Set defaults by app and wait for the new windows to load. Search your preferred browser and click it. Select
  Set this program as default and press OK.
  
• Close all your browsers and check if it still asks you to set your browser.

Disable new search bar in Outlook 365

OK. There is a way to disable this new search box in Microsoft Office 365. For Outlook:

1. Open Outlook 365.
2. On the lower left-hand corner click options.
3. In the User Interface options under the General Tab, click the checkbox Collapse the Microsoft Search box by default.
4. Click OK.

The search box will now disappear. However, disabling this option would only work on that application. If you open Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you will need to do these same steps to disable the search box (if present) as well. Let me know if this works for you.
