    Windows 10 5GHz Mobile Hotspot Option

    Hello, I am trying to create a 5Ghz mobile hotspot on my windows 10 desktop with no luck. My desktop is connected to the internet through Ethernet and I have a 2.4 and 5 GHz capable WiFi card installed. I have tried multiple times to create a hotspot,
    but it creates it on the 2.4 GHz band every time and I have no option in the mobile hotspot settings window to choose a band preference. I have tried going into my WiFi card's driver options and set preference to the 5 GHz band and even disabled the 2.4 GHz
    band, but this always results in an error saying that I cannot create the hotspot. Can anyone help me with this? I am trying to do this because my router does not support 5 GHz itself and the 2.4 GHz frequency space around my apartment is super clogged up;
    also I want to do a nvidia gamestream to my TV in another room and I want maximum bandwidth for gaming which would be on the 5 GHz band.

    I can't set bandwidth of mobile hotspot in Windows 10

    I tried to set up a hotspot on my computer to share my internet connection to other devices (such as mobile or tablet). However, I couldn't succeed. Somebody told me that I need to change bandwidth from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz, but can't find it in hotspot settings:

    In command line, I can't see any info about supported bandwidths:

    Where could I possibly get an information about supported bandwidths? I could see the WiFi hotspot in my mobile, but the mobile can't connect to it. It still tries to load up IP address and fails How do i change my mobile hotspot bandwidth to 2.4 ghz while im connected to a 5ghz wifi :( This is my setup of shared networks:

    Did I set up the drivers configuration as seen at the last image right? Also, can I share non-home network? Because I'm connected to university network and don't want my computer's content be exposed in public space in the network, so I set it to be public connection rather than private home...

    Windows 10 5GHz Mobile Hotspot Option

    Hi Richard,

    What I am doing is trying to create a 5GHz hotspot on my desktop WiFi card, that does support 5GHz, to my smart tv that also supports 5GHz. The only connection I have going to my router is my desktop through a Ethernet cable. From this theoretical setup,
    everything should work; but the windows mobile hotspot software is not letting me set up a 5GHz hotspot on my desktop.

    Thanks.
