Windows 10: How do I change the default icon for word files on windows 11 desktop?

I have sent the two files filenames changed for security reasons to the desktop. I guess before I installed Microsoft 365 on my new pc Windows 11, I changed one of the shortcut icons the one on the bottom - see illustration. Of course, after I installed Microsoft 365, the word files that I sent to the desktop had the "Microsoft Word" icon. But I can't change the icon for the Word file that was on my desktop before I installed Microsoft 365. How can I change it to the Microsoft Word icon as the default icon for all of my Word files when sending them to the desktop?2. How do I change the i

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

Change file icons in Windows 10

Hi Richard,

It may be possible that both Word and PDF files are set to be opened by the same program. We suggest changing the default app for these files. Follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + I on your keyboard then click Apps.
• On the left hand panel, click Default apps. Scroll down and then and then click
  Choose default apps by file type.
• Look for .doc and .docx then click
  Choose a default and choose the version of Word you're using. Do this also for
  .pdf files which you can choose from your preferred browser or the PDF program you're using.
