Windows 10: How do I change the DOB of my parent account which currently is showing as a child account...

I was setting up a child account for my son’s new Xbox. When it was asking for details which we thought were for him we put in his date of birth. So my account parent has a child’s DOB, the same as my sonschild. The tech team are telling me that these are now both child account link3d with no parent account. I need to change the DOB of my account as I am limited on the Xbox and can’t verify my son’s new email. 2 technicians have tried fixing this today but because there is no parent linked to my parent/child account is the issue.

If the birth date on a Microsoft account says that it belongs to a child, there are different steps to take in regions such as the United States of America and the Republic of Korea, and other regions that regulate what children can do online. Here is what
to do when you are a parent trying to change your child's birth date:

• Using the parent's Microsoft account, sign in to your
  Family page on the Microsoft account website.
• Select Manage my child's profile info.
• For the child’s account that you want to change, select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.

In the meantime, try removing the account from the family list, then add them back as an adult. Refer to this

How do i change the DOB (date of birth/birthdate) for a child account through the parent account? How do you do Option 3?

Does anyone know how to change the birthdate of the "childs" account through the "parent" account? They do not explain how to complete "Option 3" in this support article. Here is what "Option 3" states:

Option 3: You can create a new Microsoft account, then create a parent/child relationship with the "child" account. Once this is done, you can use the "Parent" to adjust the DOB of the "Child" which will remove the child restrictions from the account.
