Windows 10: How do I change the grid size on windows 11 desktop?

I had to change my scale size to accomodate a program popup function which was too large. That worked for the program, but not for me, so I changed the resolution. Now my desktop grid has way too much space between the icons. I tried changing the resolution back to recommended, but that didn't change it. I had to turn off snap to grid so I could put them closer together. Is there a way to change the grid spacing on the desktop back to where it was before?

• Right click on Desktop.
• Click on View and select Small Icons.

Method 2:

• Click on Start and select Settings.
• Click on System.
• Under Display, keep the value as 100% for “change size of text, app and other items”.

Although my monitor has a 1366 x 768 resolution, I can only get 5 icons vertically on the desktop in Windows 10.

In Windows 8 I had 8 icons on the same screen.

Making the icons smaller does not change anything, it only makes the icons smaller and the spacing between the icons larger, and I still get ony 5 icons.

I found some answers about changing the grid spacing on Windows 7, but according to that thread, in Windows 8 this possibility was gone. How about Windows 10: is it in anyway possible to change the grid-size or the spacing between the icons, without having
to change to "non-automatically allign"

 

How to change desktop grid size for applications

Hello there,

With win + arrows I can put applications on my desktop, the grid size is 2 x 2. Can I adjust it? I have wide monitor 3440 x 1440. So I would like to use the grid size 3 x 2.
