To start off with, I have 3 drives. C:, my boot drive, and S: and F:, for storage. A while back I changed my downloads and documents among other things like the desktop to my F: drive, as my C: drive is very small and I wanted space, but unfortunately I downloaded a file that seemed to completely turn off my F: drive and I have no idea how to fix it. Not sure if it was malware or something, but the F: drive is gone. Weird thing is, in the bios, it still says it's there, even if it isn't connected to the pc. It's like a phantom drive, and I can't seem to move anything from it as it is inacces

  2. Can I Change My Default Desktop Location??

    Hello Lucas,

You may change the default location for the desktop and library folders on Windows 10.

To change the default location of the folders, please follow these steps:

    • Click Start, type This PC and press
      Enter
      .
    • Right-click the Desktop folder and select Properties.
    • Go to Location tab and click Move.
    • Find the new location for the Desktop folder and click
      Select
      Folder.
    • Click OK to finish.

The steps must be done on each of the library folders.

    Regards.

default storage location for documents with win10

Used to be you could right-click your documents folder, go to properties, and use the "Location" tab to set where your documents where stored. This allows you to store documents on a second hard drive rather than on the "C" drive. I just installed
a SSD with another drive for storage and am attempting to make the links on the desktop point to storage locations in the 2nd drive but am unable to do so. It appears I can either store them on the "C" drive or on the root directory on the "G" ( 2nd ) drive
but not in a specific location on the "G" drive.

Is there a way to type in a new location in the properties for folders on the desktop? If this is no longer an option, then how do we change the default storage location for the contents of these folders?
