Windows 10: How do I change the microsoft account associated with my local account?

My parents made my local account when I was a kid so the connected it to a microsoft account that I don't use and I would like it to be connected to the account I do use, but I don't want to make a new local account as I have spent years on this one and naturally have a lot of data I wouldn't like to transfer over.

I do not know what the reason might be.

I suggest you create a new account and make that an MSAccount instead.
Add Local Account or Microsoft Account - TenForumsTutorials
Change to Admin account type- TenForumsTutorials - if desired

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
