Windows 10: How do i change the screenshot save location?

I had just gotten this computer, it would be a shame to get rid of it. So when I take screenshots, such as using Windows key + shift + s or Prtsc, it doesnt save to a screenshot folder in pictures. it saves to C:\Users\rbuck\AppData\Local\Packages\MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy\TempState in a screenclip folder and my old computer had a screenshots folder, is there any way to fix this and change it back to a screenshot folder under pictures?

but the screenshot that I took was not listed where is was supposed to be (in Recents).

tells me to click on the screenshots folder, but as you know I don't have that folder.

NOTE:

When I click the Windows key plus PrntScr, the screen does NOT dim. Instead, the "Start" menu appears.

So I think that that key combination is not saving the screenshot at all, anywhere. That would explain why there is nothing on the clipboard.

Do you have any suggestions for verifying that the Windows key plus PrntScr is taking the screenshot?

 

Change Snipping Tool save location on Windows 11 but not Screenshots

Welcome to Microsoft community.

Unfortunately, as of as I know, there is no direct way to change the default save location for the Snipping Tool without also affecting the Screenshots folder in Windows 11. The Snipping Tool and the Screenshot function share the same default save location.

However, there's a workaround you might find useful. After you've taken a snip using the Snipping Tool, rather than simply clicking the save button (floppy disk icon), you can choose "File" from the menu and then "Save As". This will allow you to select a specific location where you want to save the snip. If you always save your snips to the same location using this method, the Snipping Tool will remember the location and suggest it as the default place to save the next time you use "Save As".

My apologies. I thought you didn't want to use Windows key + PrtScrn shortcut.

The Screenshots folder is only created after first screenshot is taken.
