Windows 10: How do I change the Task Descriptions in the Task Manager for Server 2008, 2012, 2016?

Our server environment is using multiple versions of Windows, 2008, 2012, 2016. We would like to know how to change the Task Manager Descriptions.


Task Manager > Processes (Server 2008) Details (Server 2012 and 2016) > Description


We have many tasks which are referred to as the same name, multiple instances that all look similar. How do we customize the Description to our liking? Logged in as ROOT/Administrator.

Help enabling Task Manager users on Server 2012 R2

Hi,

I need some help here, the company I work at is hosting a Windows 2012 R2 Standard Server for one of our customers, but I have trouble enabling Task manager for the users, I have check the Group Polices on the server and nuth that has anything with "Remove Task Manager" is configured so they should be able to use it, but they get this when trying to start the task manager:





When I look at the policy called "Remove Task Manager" it says:

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, users can access Task Manager to start and stop programs, monitor the performance of their computers, view and monitor all programs running on their computers, including system services, find the executable names of programs, and change the priority of the process in which programs run.

and from this i take if i set it to "disable" or "not configure" users should be able to use the task manager but they ain't, anyone have a solution for this problem?

Task Scheduler is skipping Tasks in Server 2016

Hi,

we are facing issues with created tasks in new server 2016 machines.

the tasks action are simple like execute batch file

the problem is, it seems that if the task creation date is in the past or after the time has passed, those tasks are not executed and in the event viewer there is only this error message: Missed Task start rejected - Task Scheduler
did not launch task MyTask as it missed its schedule.

the tasks need to perform every month once on the first sunday

this worked perfectly fine on older server versions like 2008R2 and 2012 but are failing in server 2016.

we do not want to use the option start
the task when available, if schedule is missed because those tasks are critical and we want to avoid execution in business time.

we also did file up an support call but it seems the call-center members are not really working together with microsoft support as they still are not responding or doing further investigations... so much for paid support...

if anybody knows something that would be appreciated.
