Windows 10: How do I change the user folder name within the C: drive, i.e. "C:\Users\thoma"?

I bought a new laptop a couple weeks ago. This is the first laptop I have purchased and set up on my own since my parents bought and set my laptop up before I went to college. As I was setting it up, I somehow made the user folder name "thoma" i.e. "C:\Users\thoma". I need to change this to "C:\Users\thomas". I can't simply right-click and edit the name of the folder. I am not an advanced user, so the easiest and safest way to do this would be appreciated.

Changing user name in C:\Users, error "the action can't be completed because the folder is open in another program"

Well, as usual, after a reset of my computer, my name changed from Thomas to thoma. Many of my programs as default use that name, and at last, it got me annoyed enough to change it. I tried both methods:

1) Enable Admin account from cmd prompt, and rename user folder name, and also change the registry.

2) Change the registry (Change C:\Users\thoma to C:\Users\Thomas in one of the codes), then restart. After restart, you'll be logged in a temp account, where you can rename the C:\Users\thoma to C:\Users\Thomas.

Well, both methods failed in "the action can't be completed because the folder is open in another program." None of the processes were shown there, I don't know what to end as a process. There are so many files, and I believe file explorer is the one that
is blocking it. Of course, ending that process closes everything.

Things I tried:

1) Method of changing folder properties "Launch folder windows in a separate process option under Advanced settings"

2) Looking for programs to end in task manager

3) Ending file explorer and renaming the file as fast as possible

4) Closing all open processes (programs running, etc.)

Any suggestions?
