Windows 10: How do I change the Windows 11 Pro Administrator's Microsoft Account?

When I sat up Windows 11, I started it with a new Microsoft account.However, now I want to change it to another Microsft Account I have, but I can't do so.I've looked at the answers given to a few othe users with similar problems, but my Windows does not give the option to let the administrator log-in as a local user.Thus I'm stuck.Is there any other way that I can change the account of my administrator?Thanks,

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account


Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. Change of administrator on Windows 11

Hi,

I am planning to change my administrator account to a new Microsoft account on Windows 11. I am confident on technical steps but I have a question on consequences. What I mean by that is: when I change my administrator account,

• do I lose some data?
  
• Can I access the data from the previous admin user folder? etc.
  

May I request you to help me with the points where it could go wrong and lose my data or access to the data please? Thanks in advance.

 

Should my Microsoft Account have administrator privileges?

I just finished reinstalling Windows 10 (Creator version) and decided to have the installation process create a Microsoft Account instead of bypassing that step like I have on other laptops in the past and creating a local account later. After the install I went to Accounts in the settings and saw that the Microsoft Account was listed as an Administrator. I always thought the main user should only have standard privs for security purposes. Thoughts? Should I create a new admin account and try and change the MSA to a standard account?
