Windows 10: How do I change thumbnail on MP4 files on my PC? Windows 11

It's extremely simple what I want to do, and yet despite scouring the entire internet for an hour or two even watching a useless YouTube tutorial, I can't find a simple answer.What I want to be able to do is to set the thumbnail for each of the videos on my PC individually from a certain frame or timestamp whatever's most appropriate in the context of that particular video. I don't want all videos in a folder to be set to the same timestamp or percentage or anything. Right now, all the thumbnails showing on File Explorer are super random, some have the movie reel on the sides, while others

Thumbnails no longer generating for .mp4 files

I recently installed and uninstalled a bunch of programs (which I believe caused the issue).

Afterwards, for some reason, only .mp4 files will no longer generate thumbnails in the explorer. Any new .mp4 file I create now shows up as a default blank thumbnail. Existing .mp4 files (before the issue came up) still retained their thumbnails. All other
types of files are showing up fine.

I deleted the thumbnail cache, and all thumbnails regenerated except .mp4 files.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thank you.

 

Thumbnails for Video Files (such as mp4) Are Not Working

Within the last couple of days, thumbnails for video files (particularly mp4) seem to have stopped appearing. New files would not get thumbnails, while thumbnails for older files remained. Even more odd, these new mp4 files would receive thumbnails while
being uploaded to OneDrive, but would lose their thumbnails after uploading / syncing was complete.

Recently, I cleared my thumbnail cache using Disk Cleanup, but that did not fix the issue. Instead, I lost all of my thumbnails, including the ones that remained for the older mp4 files (I have done the obvious as well, such as refreshing my Windows Explorer
session following disk cleanup and even rebooting). So, I tried clearing the thumbnail cache again using an administrative command prompt, and I got the same result.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

 

No thumbnails and data like 'lenght' for MP3 / MP4 / PDF

ALL IS SOLVED, steps followed:
- Ran the troubleshooter 'Windows Updates' which detected and fixed some issues
- Ran the search for Windows Updates again which now found 2 additional updates and installed them:
* KB4580419 - 2020-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 version 2004 for x64
* KB4586781 - 2020-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 2004 for x64-based systems
- Rebooted my system and all was fine again (thumbnails of MP3/MP4/... are back, MP3 artists, titles, lengths etc are back)
