How do I change where content is saved to my driveand get it to work?

Prior to my laptop’s reset, everything was fine. I was able to save my files from Gmail, zips, rars, etc to my removable USB drive with no issues. After the reset, I can no longer change the location of my downloads to my usb drive. Every time I press “apply” in settings, I get the error code 0x80070013. I tried changing it through Microsoft Edge’s settings, did not work. I also tried changing the location through file explorer, but that didn’t work either. I also attempted to update my laptop, but it again did not work because I do not have enough storage to do so and when I did it still d

I install a second hard drive that is recognize be the system, but under "change where content is saved" does not give me the option to choose this drive that is listed as D:. Is formatted as NTFS

If I plug an external hard drive I will get the option to saved in it

Change where new content is saved.

    Hello Martin,

We apologize for the late reply.

Windows 10 lets you easily change the default Save location for Documents, Music, Picture and Video files. For steps on how to organize your preferred setting, follow these steps:

    • Open Start Menu.
    • Click Settings, then System settings.
    • Click on Storage in the left pane.
    • Scroll down a bit and find Save locations.
    • There you will see New documents will save to setting and similar settings for Music, Pictures & Videos.
    • Select the location from the drop-down menu.

For Windows 10 Creators Update v1703, you need to navigate as follows:

    Settings > System > Storage
    > Change where new content is saved.

Tip: If you are suffering from the low space issues after upgrading, you can use these technique to move Documents and other personal folders from the default system drive to another drive.

Feel free to post back if further assistance is needed.
