Windows 10: How do I completely reinstall Windows on a Compute Stick? (Lenovo Ideacentre 300)

One of our media players recently stopped working so I've been unplugging my compute stick (without powering down) and moving it to the next room and starting it up again.

I moved it this time and the recovery screen popped up. I tried startup repair and it did nothing, I tried resetting everything completely but it ends up circling back to the recovery screen after basically completing.

I then opened the command prompt and ran the following commands with the following results



C:\>Diskpart

DISKPART> list vol

C: Windows

E: Recovery

(blank): SYSTEM

D: (blank>



C:\> bootrec /fixmbr

[Success]



C:\> bootrec /fixboot

Access is denied.



C:\> bootrec /rebuildbcd

[1] C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS

Yes

The system cannot find the path specified

I have a Lenovo Ideacentre 300-201ISH that has a lot of errors and warnings in event viewer ( up to 4 per minute).

I have installed the latest Windows 10 updates, drivers and BIOS. I uploaded 3 files for your interest (ideacemtre 300-20ish.evtx, ideacemtre 300-20ish.txt and Speccy ideacemtre 300-20ish.txt) to my OneDrive account. The link: Geteilte Elemente vom 31-3-2018 1

Hello mmzlen,

Just so you know the Lenovo ideacentre 300-01IBY is just a rebrand of the Intel Compute Stick. Intenally they are the same device and suffer the same issue with the eMMC write cache bug when upgrading
to windows 10 1511. If you follow my instructions I previously posted for performing a Windows 10 upgrade for the intel compute stick. It will work for the Lenovo version as well. I highly suggest using a USB drive to do the upgrade and not to do the in place
upgrade. You can make the USB installer from another computer and just make sure you tell it make it for Windows 10 x86.

Also as I stated in my last replay, the issues has already been resolved by Microsoft and Intel. Just make sure to install the latest Windows 10 CU and the latest Chipset Installation package from Intel after following my upgrade instructions.
