Windows 10: How do I connect to a network to do any trouble shooting

My laptop no longer gives me the option to connect to wifi: the whole wifi option in general is missing and it’s saying I have a driver issue or hardware missing. Indont know how to even run any tests or try to download any updated driver or even see if I have an update available without connecting to wifi? It does say tho under system in my settings that attention is needed under the windows update section. I have a HP stream laptop 11-ak0xx IntelR CelerinR N4120 CPU @ 1.10GHz 64 but operating system Windows 11 home version 23H2 Umm I did find a great answer to my wifi option not being t

Unable to print to a network printer when connected to both wireless and wired networks

Hi Eileen,

• As far as i'm aware nothing has changed
• i have only tried to send test pages to the network printer so im assuming so yes
• wireless printer works fine when connected to both networks. However the wifi doesn't connect auto when an Ethernet connection is established this has to be manually connected.

I have tried the following:

• updated the print driver
• changed the network port it was plugged into
• ran windows updates
• configured with a static
• changed the wifi and Ethernet priority

I will run through the trouble shoot steps as suggest and come back to you.

FYI - he has a number of extenders dotted around, a collegue mentioned it could be a subnet issue?

can not connect to internet, trouble shoot gives reason: 0×0002800001

thanks for your reply.

i can't share a screenshot, but it says i have to restart the router. i tryed this and it did not help.

The trouble shoot list this error, - problem with wireless adaptor or access port -

if i connect to the network it says: Can't connect to this network

i followd the advise on the lenovo site and ran an antivirus. both did not fix the issue

Trouble Connecting

Hi,

To isolate the concern, please provide us the following information:

• Which web browser are you using?
  
• Is the issue also happens when you use other web browsers?
• Are you connected to the internet using a wired connection or a wireless connection?

To address your concern, please perform the following steps:

Step 1: Run the Internet Connections and Network Adapter Troubleshooter.

To do this, follow the steps below:

• Right click the Windows logo (Start button).
• Click Control Panel.
• Click Troubleshooting.
• Click Network and Internet.
• Click Internet Connections.
• A window will pop up. On the window, click Advanced.
• Click Run as administrator.
• Click Advanced again. Make sure that the Apply repairs automatically check box is checked.
• Click Next.
• Choose Troubleshoot my connection to the Internet.
• When the troubleshooter is done, click Close. (Please provide us the result of the troubleshooter)
• Click Network Adapter.
• Repeat steps 6-11.
• Check if you can access websites without issues.

If it's still the same, please proceed to step 2.

Step 2: Reset your web browser.

If you're using Internet Explorer, please follow the steps found on this
article to reset Internet Explorer. If you're using other web browsers, the best way you can reset them is by re-installation.
