Windows 10: How Do I Copy An Icon From The Task Bar To The Desktop

I want to copy an icon from the taskbar to the desktop. I have tried several things, but cannot get it to work.Also, I am not notified by an email when someone responds to my posts. I have the box checked that says "Notify me when someone responds to this post". What do I need to do ?Thank You

• what exactly when you try to stick the excel file to the taskbar?

If you are trying to pin the excel workbook to the taskbar.

Follow the steps below.

  Click on the start menu, select the icon and right-click on the icon.

  From the list, select pin it to taskbar or pin it to start.
  

Also, you can drag the icon from the desktop and drop on the task bar.

Move an Icon from the Taskbar to the Desktop?


You can drag and drop icons from the Apps list or Start Menu to the Task Bar or the Desktop. A copy of the icon will be dragged to the Task Bar or Desktop and the original icon will still be in the Apps list or Start Menu.

You can also find the .exe file in the File Explorer and right click and copy the .exe file. Then right click over the desktop and paste shortcut to place an icon on the desktop.

• Under Notification area, click
  Customize.
• In Notification Area Icons, click on Select
  which icons appear on Taskbar.
• On in the drop-down list next to
  Power, and then click OK.

If the issue still persists you can try Updating the latest Power management driver software for Windows 10 from the manufacturer website.
