    How do I decrypt files that were encrypted with bitlocker after I've reformatted my PC.


    I have reformatted and reinstalled Windows 11 Pro. I had some files that were encrypted with BitLocker before the reinstall, however, when I right click on the folders there is no BitLocker option to unlock said folder.I have tried to decrypt the files using three methods posted on another thread which include changing folder permissions and running "cipher" in the command prompt as administrator. I would have thought I could just right click the folders and just unlock the files with the password using BitLocker...

    Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

    For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'.

    Another option is to use software.

    Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to System - About

    Are you running Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise?

    If so, you have encrypted your files with Bitlocker, which is the encryption utility in Windows 10

    Did you set up Bitlocker on your PC?

    Go to your Microsoft Account online and check there for your Bitlocker Decryption Key -
    Sign in to your Microsoft account
