  1. How do I delete a file that takes up no space, but won't let me delete it?

I have a file on my desktop, which was a zip file before I deleted it. After I deleted the file, it turned into a ".file" file. It turned into a white sheet of paper with no lines and fold on it, it doesn't have any data, and doesn't allow windows to read it, write to it, or remove it. I can't post pictures so here's the screenshots on imgur:https://imgur.com/gallery/help-gy6MNyf

    deleting hard drive files

    Hi,

May we know what type of file are you trying to delete? Would it be Office documents, media files, or picture files? If you're trying to delete files for free some space on your device. We suggest to perform a Disc Cleanup. Kindly follow the steps below to
    perform the task:

    • Type in Cortana Disc Cleanup
    • Choose the files to delete
    • Click on "Clean up system files"
    • Click on Ok

For any concerns, don't hesitate to get back to us.

    Regards.

    Deleting the "SoftwareDistribution" Files

I noticed that "Depending on your HDD Space and you made sure your Updated on Windows 7" that you can delete all the Files "Going into Safe-Mode of course" but i saw a .Txt File that shows the Updates you've installed "That i deleted by mistake" but by deleting that File i saw the updates needed to be installed again but i knew weren't true.

So yeah what ya' think? Should this be a good idea? I saw that over 3GB worth of files!
