How do I delete a half-downloaded Windows Update?

I'm on Windows 10 1909, and it prompted me to update.

I have a 128 GB laptop, which had 4-5 GB of disk space left. Windows Update notified me to update. So after seeing it, I started downloading the update, but halfway through, it tells me I don't have enough space for it. Using my 4-5 GB of free space.

Because as of now I'm not in a position to upgrade my SSD, I decided it would be best to update some other time.

But now, I can't delete the half-downloaded update. And have around 700 MB left of storage, which is an amazing pain in the a**.

How can I delete the half-downloaded update?

I tried the Windows cleanup available on Windows' Settings, but it doesn't delete it.

Is it not possible? If it's not, I find this an incredibly stupid problem. Why would Windows Update start downloading an update without checking if you have enough space before it starts? Why couldn't it tell my that I needed around10 GB to update, before letting me start the download?

PS: Windows told me that I could update if I used external storage, but after plugging it in it still asks me to free up around 5 GB.

    Thanks in advance,

    - Lucas

    :)

  2. Vista x64 won't download updates?

The last updates on my home desktop are dated 16th June.
I've powered it on some 3 or 4 times since then, but nothing was downloaded automatically as per settings.

I tried the manual update from the CP but I get an error code 80070002.

I did the troubleshooting suggested (i.e. stop the Windows Update service, delete the temporary update files, restart the Windows Update service, and then try to check for Windows updates again) but I still keep getting the same error code, even after rebooting *Confused How do I delete a half-downloaded Windows Update?

    What gives?

    Windows 10 forced download

^This, then reboot and go to manually update windows. Find KB3035583 in the list of available updates, right-click and "Hide this update" so it doesn't get installed again next go around.
