Windows 10: How do i delete a recently deceased contact's birthday from Calendar - I have deleted the...

Title says it all really. Win 10, all updated.


Quite upsetting not being able to sort this easily.


Have searched - seem to be plenty of similar threads but haven't found any solutions.


The event is in the Birthday Calendar - right clicking gives an option to edit event or edit series. Edit series goes to a screen with event details but no delete option - the only option is Save.

Deleting Birthdays in Calendar

To delete a birthday from your calendar, you need to delete that person in the contacts list....Hope this helps everybody having this problem.

To delete any birthday/event in the Calendar App, follow the steps provided below:

• Open the Calendar App.
• Click on the Birthday event which is created for the particular day.
• A dialog box will open.
• In the top pane, click on Delete.

Deleting Birthdays in Calendar

This is still an issue. I've freed myself from the woes of Facebook by disabling my account. Unfortunately, the birthday entries are there. Attempting all of the steps within this thread are pointless as:

• there's no right clicking of the birthday event to delete it
• editing the series only shows "Save and close" but no delete
• there are no accounts associated to the calendar app to remove
• the troubleshooting app believes Windows is perfect and offers no options
• it's impossible to uninstall Mail and Calendar manually to try again

Give us some registry keys to delete to fix this.

It would be nice to use the apps Microsoft presents if they work...
