Windows 10: How do I delete duplicate files? I'm afraid that if I delete from one User name they will...

I have stuff under two different user names. Valued Customer was set up when I had a different computer combined with this one when I bought it. Now when I search for something, It won't find it unless I am using the correct user name. I also have duplicate files that I would like to combine into one. How can I make sure that nothing gets permanently deleted?

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about deleting the duplicate pictures.

Windows 10 actually doesn't have a way to delete duplicate files automatically. Users would have to manually locate and delete the duplicate files. Duplicate files, if have the same file names, usually will be marked as "-copy" on the file name. You may use
that string on the search bar to look for all duplicate pictures on the folder.

How do I delete registry files?

Does it matter if I deleted programs at:
Go to Hkey_Current User> Software intead of "Local Machine"?

Also, where can I check if programs listed there are legitimate? Isn't there a website to check the names of programs or applications?

HKEY_Current user will only delete the keys within the current account ur using so if u have another account, the keys will remain on that one. To delete it from ur entire system local machine is what u use. Ur second question i can't answer. sry
