    How do I delete "residue" files after removal of videos?

    I temporarily download some .avi and .mp4 files and then delete them

    My computer seems to run awfully slow after that.

    Where are these residual files in Windows 11 and how do I delete them, please?

    How do I delete "residue" files after removal of videos?

    Hello there,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

    Avi, mp4 and other video files are not similar to application files. There are no residue files left after you have deleted the video file itself.

    The video files do have thumbnails but that is most likely not the reason for the slowdown but if you wish to delete them follow these steps :

    Click on the search bar and type in disk cleanup

    Press enter and choose C drive from the options

    Let the files scan and in the popup box untick every option except the last that says "thumbnails" then click ok and confirm the deletion.

    Removal of residue files of McAfee

    Yes Defender is enabled. I have done the "safemode" also. Did a "This PC" search for Mcafee, list 68 files. I have tried doing a group removal/delete and I get this "program is being used by another file". I also have tried removing them separately which
    takes all day to go thru each file to remove, and get the same reply from some of the files. It also tells me only Administrator will only let me do it, but I am in that mode. Any other suggestion?
