Windows 10: How do I delete "Windows Update Cleanup"?

My C drive is very low on space, and "Windows Update Cleanup" has taken the last 2.80 gigabytes of it, leaving me with only 30 megabytes. I've attempted to delete it through the settings, but once I click "Remove" it stays greyed out for 2 minutes and does nothing. I've tried resetting my computer after it was done, nothing. Tried to remove it after that, nothing.Is there any way I can fix this issue? Disk Cleanup after The anniversary update

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Disk Cleanup. I will certainly help you.

As per your query, I would like to inform you that, it is safe to delete all the files with extension .tmp in the temporary files folder.

I suggest you to try deleting the temporary file manually by the steps provided below and check if it helps:

• Go to Windows key+ R and type
  temp
• Select all of the files and folders within the Temp folder and delete.

Cannot delete Windows OLD using disc cleanup.

• What happens when you run disk cleanup? Do you get an option to select previous OS?
• Do you receive any error message when you run disk cleanup?
• Why you want to remove Windows.old folder?

You may follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• In search type disk cleanup and hit enter.
• Click on cleanup system files.
• Under files to delete select previous operating system and click
  OK.

Note: Windows.old folder contains all the important files (user data, Program Files, Windows files, etc.) from the older version of Windows that was installed on your computer. However, before deleting it, I would suggest you to browse through
the folder and make sure you don’t have any important files in there. Having done that, you can go ahead and delete the folder.
