Windows 10: How do I disable Alt + Shift to change the keyboard layout? Language options are still...

Good Day,


I want to disable alt + shift combination to change the keyboard layout. After googling it for a while I realized that I needed to do it on Control Panel and under language options. But there are no language options in the Control Panel?! It's missing. I've read in couple threads that Microsoft managed the mess the language options up with the latest updates and it is still missing for months with no update on it. So at this point how do I disable alt + shift combination? Thank you in advance.

Alt-Shift doesn't change language

In Windows 7

Go to Start

Type on search:

Region and Language

Click on Keyboard and Languages tab

Then, Click on Change keyboards...

Click on Advanced Key Settings tab

Then select: Between input languages and click on Change Key Sequence...

In you case you will see both Switch Input Language and Switch Keyboard Layout options are Not Assigned.

you have to change

Switch Input Language to: Left Alt + Shift

And

Switch Keyboard Layout to Ctrl + Shift

Then Click OK

Done.

Keyboard language layout changes automatically.

Hello,

To disable automatic keyboard layout change, follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
• Choose Control Panel.
• Under View by, select Small icon.
• Click Language.
• On the left side, choose Advance settings.
  
  
  
  
• Under Switching input methods, uncheck Let me set a different input method for each app window.
  
  
  
  
• Click Save.
• Restart your computer.

Accidentally pressing some shortcut keys may cause some unwanted changes on your computer. Kindly view the samples below:

Windows Key + Space key = Changes language/keyboard pairs.

Alt + Shift = Change Language.

Ctrl + Shift = Changes keyboard.

Advanced settings

, in a section called Switching input methods click on
Change language bar hotkeys

, continue with Advanced key settings tab, then click on button
Change Key Sequence

and then choose from a list called Switch Keyboard Layout your desired
LEFT ALT + SHIFT hotkey.
