Windows 10: HOW DO I DISABLE BITLOCKER THE RECOVERY TOOL?

What is the process to disable my bitlocker recovery tool? When I type in the number and hit enter the the laptop shuts down, starts up again and goes back to the same thing where it's asking me what to type in the bit locker recovery to number and then I do that and shuts down over and over again and does not retain the number in.Its memorym?

We understand your concern as you are getting BitLocker recovery key prompt, every time you turned on the laptop. We appreciate your effort in troubleshooting the issue.



Ideally, in Windows 10 BitLocker doesn’t come by default. It could be possible that the BitLocker got enabled during some updates, either Windows update or PC manufacturer update.



As you have mentioned that you are forced to input the BitLocker recovery key, which is incredibly a tedious process.



Meanwhile, we would suggest you to disable the secure boot from the BIOS and check if you are able to bypass the BitLocker. Please refer the steps in this article:

Lost bitlocker recovery key

I have lost my bitlocker recovery key and tried following the recovery steps. I have also searched and tried following the command prompts suggested but none have worked.

If you can still boot into Windows then I suggest you locate your Bitlocker recovery key as soon as possible.
