Windows 10: How do I disable efficiency mode for good?

Efficiency mode is DESTROYING browsing. I can play RDR2 fine, Warthunder, GTA V, but I can't watch a video. Windows says there are subprocesses of Chrome that are running efficiency mode. When I turn them off the videos run fine, then they turn on automatically after a few minutes.I have:IntelR CoreTM i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz32 GB DDR4Nvidia 1660I just really want to watch Youtube on my PC. There are no settings to turn off efficiency mode system wide and I don't want it. I have the "Ask me before turning on efficiency mode" option selected but I never got a dialog or asked.

How do I permanently disable this feature for Firefox? The option to do so is greyed out in the task manager. For other programs, efficiency mode can be enabled and disabled, but not for Firefox, which is also the only program to be in efficiency mode. I do not want my browser to run unnecessarily poorly.

Thanks for the response.

I tried what you suggested and disabled both settings, relaunched, and turned off efficiency mode for each sub-process it was active for.

Within 2 minutes, efficiency mode was re-activated, so your solution didn't seem to work.

I am on a desktop so I don't think the battery one would have any effect.

Can you try this method to disable Efficiency Mode in Chrome?

> Make sure that Chrome is not running.

> Right-click on the Chrome shortcut on the desktop

> Select “Properties”

> In the Target field, after Chrome.exe", add a space and the command below.

--disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess

> Click “Apply” and then “OK”

Then check if the efficiency mode is disabled
