Windows 10: How do I disable mic access to one desktop app?

So I need to disable mic access to one of my computer apps, but it shows up underneath "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone", and I can't seem to disable one without disabling all. Any advice? Or am I stuck like this?

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

settings > privacy > microphone > 'allow apps to access mic'

in

when this is off, sites do not work (like google hangouts, all else)

im guessing that win10 is not disabling hangouts, but that's it's disabling chrome's access to mic entirely



this is extremely bad UI/UX/HCI in win10

you would most likely think that the apps under ''allow apps to access mic' are what is going to be disabled

it took me forever to find out what was causing the random mic problem


want to know the technical reasons for what win10 is doing exactly ?


in the past i think there's been 2 or so mic problem, tho they were easily solved (all of which were caused by win10). i had tried asking on the web, but not a single person on the web knew how to do basic troubleshooting of the mic problems tho

 

Disabling a specific program from accessing my microphone

1. Open the settings app
2. Go to Privacy - Microphone.
3. On the right, disable the toggle switch under Allows apps to access your microphone. When access is allowed for the operating system as described above, all apps get access permissions by default.
   4. In the list below, you can control microphone access for certain apps individually. Every listed app has its own toggle option which you can enable or disable.
