Windows 10: how do I disable the touchpad on my lenovo?

I used to be able to turn off the touchpad when I have an external mouse plugged in. I can't do this any longer since Windows updates a few months back. What do I do now?

• Go to Mouse Properties via Control Panel.
• Touchpad, from where you can simply turn off the touchpad and save.
• If you do not see this option in the Mouse Properties menu, it could only mean that you do not have the touchpad driver installed on your laptop.

Download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if you can disable.

Disable touchpad

Hi,

Normally, you can disable the touchpad from Device Manager by follow the steps below:

• Go to Device Manager.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right-click on HID-compliant mouse and select Disable.
• Click Yes.
• Check if the touchpad is already disabled.

You can also contact the device manufacturer for further assistance if touchpad cannot be disabled.
