Windows 10: How do I disable this stupid adaptive contrast/brightness?

I'm sick and tired of my monitor going dark every time I open an app that has a dark background like Oculus. It makes the screen nearly unreadable. I've looked all over the internet and none of the answers work or are relevant. There is no setting for adaptive brightness or contrast in either the video or power option settings. Windows 10.

1. What is the name of the game that you are trying to play?
   
2. What is the make and model number of your laptop?
   
3. What is the version of your Windows 10 computer? (To check the version of your Windows 10, you can refer
   See which version of Windows 10 you have).
   

Meanwhile, you can enable the adaptive brightness by going to Settings >
System > Display and check box the option
Change brightness automatically when lighting changes.



Also, you can follow the below steps to enable the adaptive brightness from Control Panel.

1. Open Control Panel > and click on
   Power Options.
   
2. Open your active power plan, you’ll see Change plan settings option. Click
   Change plan settings next to your current power plan to open
   Edit Plan Settings window.
   
3. Click Change advanced power settings option. This will open
   Power Options dialog.
   
4. Expand Display and then expand
   Enable adaptive brightness. Change it to On.
   
5. Restart the computer once for the changes to take effect and check if the brightness/contrast changes.
