Windows 10: How do I download the Windows 10 default camera application as an .EXE?

Windows came automatically pre-installed with the Camera application, but it's downloaded through the Microsoft Store. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/windows-camera/9wzdncrfjbbg


Is there a direct download or .exe that isn't a virus?

Success in resetting Store; that produced a download of the Windows camera, despite seeing error message again, download proceeded. Screen shows MS app for Windows camera and indicates downloaded. (Camera now listed in app list.) But when Launch was selected,
no action after screen with camera icon. Eventually message appeared " something went wrong: here is message code if needed: 0x400F4271>MediaCaptureFailedEvent>0xC00D3704. We seem to be moving ahead a step at a time. Next suggestion?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Missing exe - was trying to download and add a Nikon Camera Firmware update

Since firmware updates need to be run just once, it would be inappropriate to include them in the list of Default Programs.

I do not own a Nikon camera but I know that firmware updates usually go like this:

1. Download the update file to your PC's Downloads folder.
2. Double-click it to run it.
3. It will prompt you to connect your camera.
4. It will do the firmware update.

In other words, it runs from your PC. It does not run from your SD card.

If this is not the way it happened with your upgrade then you need to read the installation instructions. If still unsuccessful, send a note to the Nikon helpdesk.
