Windows 10: How do I enable Dell audio pop-up?

Dear Support Team,I hope this message finds you well. I recently performed a clean installation of Windows on my Dell Latitude E7450, and I am experiencing an issue with my headset, which has separate wires for the microphone and speakers. Previously, when I plugged them in, the headphone dialog would pop up, allowing me to select the headset as the default audio device. However, since the installation, this dialog does not appear, and the headset is not being detected.I have installed all the necessary drivers and have thoroughly searched for options, but I cannot find Dell Audio, MaxxAudio,

Before we proceed with troubleshooting, I would need little information on the issue.

• Are using speakers / head phones to listen to audio?

If you have disabled the audio device, then you might not see it under the list of playback devices. I would suggest you to follow these steps to make sure you see the disabled devices:

    Open
    Control panel.
    
  • 
    Click Hardware and Sound and then Click on
    Sounds.
    
  • 
    Under Playback tab, right click on the empty area and make sure
    “Show Disabled Devices” has a check mark on it. If headphones/Speakers are disabled, it will now show up in the list.

    Right click on the device and
    Enable it. Click OK.
    

If the issue still persists, try enabling speakers automatically using steps below.

  Go to Settings> Click on themes> Advance sound settings> right click on the speakers or the audio device youo have connected > click on
  Configure device.

  Test the sound level you want, click Next.

  And configure the audio devices.

Audio problem on Dell computer

@Stu - thanks for the detailed steps. I followed these last night and audio worked perfectly on my Samsung HDTV monitor. However, this morning audio is gone again, and performing the same steps again (even though the settings were already correct) doesn't
restore audio.

The only audio options that work for me after the upgrade to Windows 10 are: (1) headphones in the analog audio jack, or (2) external speakers connected to the rear panel. Sound from the connected monitor are not really working.

I'm so confused as to who is actually controlling the audio - there are:

• DELL Audio drivers for the Inspiron PC
• Intel Audio drivers
• Realtek Audio drivers
• Microsoft Audio drivers (?)

No wonder there's a problem...seems to me they are fighting for control of the audio device!

• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
