Windows 10: How do I enable image preview?

I've recently been doing some PC optimization. Now, this is what images look like in a file explorer window: https://i.postimg.cc/VkLCHqND/A.png

How do I get it to show me the images themselves, without me having to double click on them?

How to enable image preview in Windows 10?

Good day. From recent updates, sadly I noticed that image preview is no more available for image thumbnails. Also sadly, Windows Image Preview app was removed and now we can only use Photos. Why is that and is there by any changes to re-enabled it back
so I can preview images? Thanks.

Thank you so much for your reply.

What I really need to know is how get the video to play in the preview pane. Prior to Windows 10, this worked wonderfully and was an asset. Now, it requires making changes to the Windows registry - not recommended due to the enormous amount of issues with
Windows 10.

Any other suggestions?

To enable the Preview pane, open File Explorer and follow these steps:

  In the File Explorer window, click the View
  tab.
  
• 
  In the Panes section, click the Preview Pane button. The Preview pane is added to the right side of the File Explorer window.
  
• 
  Select several files one by one to preview their contents. You can preview their contents if they are text, images, or videos.
