  1. How do I enable my igpu

I have an I3 10100 processor. A gt710 is installed as dedicated GPU. But I came to know that uhd 630 performs better so I want to enable the igpu but it did not show in device manager so I installed the uhd 630 driver. Now it shows in device manager. I enabled in bios as well but still when I plug the display adapter from dedicated graphics port to integrated graphics port it display no signal. How do I fix it?

    :)

    Igpu

Assuming your listed PC specs are correct, that CPU does not have an iGPU.

The MOBO does support other CPUs that do, hence the video ports.

  3. Cannot force game to use iGPU even after changing setting

Thank you very much for reaching out! As an Independent Advisor and fellow Microsoft user, I'm more than happy to assist you.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Restart your computer after changing the graphics settings for the application. Sometimes the new settings don't take effect until after a restart
    2. Ensure that both your graphics drivers and Windows are fully updated. Sometimes, driver updates can resolve issues with GPU selection
    3. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:
      • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during boot).
      • Look for settings related to graphics or GPU. Ensure that the iGPU is enabled and set as the primary GPU if possible.
    4. Check if there is a setting in the Intel Graphics Command Center or Dell Power Manager software to force the use of the iGPU. Some laptop manufacturers provide utilities to override Windows' GPU selection.
    5. As a last resort, you can temporarily disable the dGPU (Intel Iris Xe MAX Graphics) from Device Manager. This will force Windows to use the iGPU, but may impact performance for GPU-accelerated applications.
If none of these steps work, there may be an issue with the GPU drivers or Windows is not properly detecting/handling the dual GPU configuration on your laptop. In that case, you may need to contact Dell support for further assistance.

Please feel free to reach out if you require any additional assistance. I'm here to help!

How do I enable my igpu

System settings app,Display settings app, Microsoft store app close/crash on startup (desk.cpl)

    Found the solution myself.

Did 3 steps so either of these fixed it.

    1. Reseated RAM
    2. Noticed the IGPU memory settings were accessible while having PEG enabled ('Enabled IGPU, boot up, shutdown, Disabled IGPU, now all iGPU mentions were gone from BIOS) -->Monitors now show the BIOS splashscreen again aswell
    3. Bootorder was on UEFI and legacy--> Put it on UEFI only.
After 1 (of more of these steps) all issues were gone, including the weird Vista boot animation.

Considering that System settings were accessible in safe mode my bet would be that the 'glitched' setting for the GPU's caused Settings to be misbehaving.
