    Customize the left side of the Start menu - Pin to Start List?


    hello.

    I wanted to add some programs to the top of the left side of the start menu (free space on the screenshoot). I have read about the "Pin to Start List" if you rightclick while holding shift. But this seems not to be working anymore!?!?! Is there another possibility to customize this list or to re-add the function?
    I don't want to use "recently added apps" or something like that ...

    I am trying to enlarge the jumplist by draging it will not work.

    Yes the start menu with the jump list along side of it. I actually got a response from a Microsoft tech telling me it would not enlarge anymore then I have it. But I can not see all of the tiles so that sucks if that is so. Hope she was wrong. Also on
    the left hand side up in the corner there is suppose to be the Menu icon but since I can not move the start menu or the jump list over I can not see the menu icon.

    Start menu side shrunk.

    Not sure where to post this.

    I opened the Start button > found the entire left side of Start Menu has been shrunk. See screenshot below.
    How do I put it back to normal ? I have tried the icons on the left side but they are not what I need to fix it.

    I can use one of the icons to expand it, but then I don't see the live tiles on the right side.

    Laptop freezes and goes back to normal when I unplug / plug it.: So yeah, my laptop often freezes even when I'm not using heavy programs and the only way to fix it is to either unplug it or plug it in.
