    no password for used Windows 10 on hp elite 8100 sff

    I purchased an HP Elite 8100 sff with Windows 10 on it. Is there a way to return it to a new pc with no user name and password so I can set it up with my own? Unable to sign in. There is a user name, but, I have no password.

    Update Prevention Problem Solved on HP 8100 Elite......

    My HP 8100 Elite has refused to update to Build 1709 for months......

    I finally decided to revert the 4GB RAM back to the original 2GB RAM which it came installed with.

    Computer then updated fine!!!!

    The 'original RAM stick' has an HP Logo on it; so perhaps something is 'special' about having it installed for major OS upgrades......

    After the upgrade to Build 1709, I put the new 4GB RAM back in and things are hunky-dory.......

    Just another item to try out if having 'upgrade problems/issues' with upgrading Windows 10......

    Along with the various video cards; Wireless cards; and other hardware related issues......

    Try to run the troubleshooter and check.

    • Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit
      Enter.
    • Select View all from the left pane and select Power.
