    Change my date of birth on microsoft profile

    Hi Alex,

    To change the date of birth on your Microsoft Account, you can follow the steps below:

    • Sign in to
      Your info       on the Microsoft account website.
    • Click Edit your personal info.
    • Select the correct date of birth, and then select Save.

    If the birth date on a Microsoft account says that it belongs to a child, there are different steps to take in regions that regulate what children can do online. You can check this

    Microsoft account date of birth wrong

    I have had a deal of difficulty signing into my microsoft account, at last I have managed to sign in with a new password. The reason I needed to sign in was that I kept getting a new notification saying I needed to after an update. I find that my date of
    birth has changed and I cannot correct it as I am now an 11 year old minor when I am in fact a 71 year old fogey! To correct the birthdate I need to give microsoft all my bank card details, something that I will not do for safety and privacy reasons. I then
    found this microsoft page that I have to fax to below.

    I tried to set up a a new account as in option 3 but to no avail, I even tried to invite myself as a family member into the account but that didn't work either

    Is this page cosher? As again I do not wish to give away driving licence information as it could be used to take out a loan.

    Is there an email address I could use to contact the people running this site as I do not have a Fax machine?

    I live in the UK and I am unhappy to send this information by mail to the US for safety and privacy reasons in case it falls into the wrong hands.

    Can I close down the account, wait a month and then open a new account using the same information but using the correct date of birth to circumvent my difficulty?

    Is there an easier way to correct my birth date. Like talk to somebody who can verify my veracity and bona fide?
