Windows 10: How do i find my digital Licence to activate Windows 11 on new hardware.

Hello! I am having trouble trying to activate my Windows 11 Home on my new hardware, it had windows 10 home but i installed windows 11 and signed into my microsoft account but in activation it is still showing no product key was found on my device and when i trouble shoot it, it still couldnt activate and im lost. On my laptop it says "Windows is activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account" But in activation it says nothing about linking accounts or using digital licence? Please help! Transferring a retail Windows 11 Pro licence to a new PC

I have an old PC running Windows 11 Pro, "activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account". This is a retail licence purchased from the Microsoft Store.



This old PC is now suffering from various hardware problems, so I have bought a new one. This has been running Windows 11 Home under an OEM licence, also "activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account".

My question is, how do I deactivate the Windows 11 Pro licence on the old PC and activate it on the new PC? I know this is an obvious question, and after some searching I found one answer I thought addressed my particular issue.

I followed the steps set out in Redirecting but now I'm stuck. The troubleshooter on the new PC says "we found a Windows Home digital licence for this device running Windows 11 Pro. To activate using this digital licence, you need to install Windows 11 Home". At the final step, "See other devices linked to your Microsoft account" only shows the old PC, with the Windows 11 Pro licence. I am signed on to the same Microsoft account on both PCs and can see them both in "Devices".

I'm not worried about the licensing on the old PC, as it's going to be recycled anyway.

 

Cannot activate windows with my digital licence after installing it on a new machine.

Due to a hardware issue I was forced to buy a new computer and install Windows fresh (to the new machine's C Drive).

I have a digital licence attached to my Microsoft account and yet I cannot activate windows on this new machine. Windows cannot find a product key, and troubleshooting leads me nowhere. The old machine is no longer listed on my devices list, so I cannot see why my licence won't apply.

Is there anyone available who could help with this?

to add I had nothing but problems since upgrading for free my wifi adaptor failed so I had to purchase another. then my ethernet port failed. so was forced into probably purchasing a new mb next step up from the failed one ( possibly because of poxy windows
10 upgrade)

Also I thought when I upgraded so called "digital licence" to win 10 I no longer needed my windows 7 disc and key so binned it.

next step was to put old motherboard which is linked to digital licence. back in and reinstall correct version of windows to match my digital licence worked windows activated! ffixxed

now to change my motherboard back to the non faulty one..... and try to reactivate...…………..!!!
