    How do I fix CPU Temp spikes?


    So, I have an HP Omen laptop which I've used for around 2 years, and recently, after doing a clean install of windows and doing everything necessary afterwards, my CPU has been having an unstable temperature, varying from 60 to 100 to 80 and staying above that, even while I'm not doing anything. Please help.

    Hi Greg,

    I alredy have CoreTemp installed on my PC, that's how I noticed the CPU temperature spikes in the first place.

    My PC is clean, I only have it for about 4/5 months.

    When my PC is on idle mode, the CPU's temp is at about 30C.

    Only after opening the store the temp spikes begin to appear and persist even after closing the store.

    other than that, there are no issues.

    Audiodg.exe Spikes Cpu Usage

    Every 5 minutes or so audiodg.exe spikes my cpu usage to about 50% and any audio im playing cuts out and then comes back a second or 2 later. The video is completely fine and it's not a problem with
    my USB Headset. audiodg.exe stays at low cpu usage when it's not spiking.

    Solutions I've tried:

    1. turning off audio enhancements
    2. reinstalling lan, and audio drivers
    3. turning off HPET
    4. lowering the sound quality in control panel
    5. DPC Latency checker (no change when spiking)
    None of these solutions work. Please help.

    How do I fix CPU Temp spikes?

    CPU temperature spikes - Random

    Unfortunately the trace did not have anything definitive despite the additional information that real temp provided. Just curious, do you have the same issue on a clean install without anything added?

    Where are you seeing the cpu temp spikes (in real temp?)? Have you tried a different app for monitoring (Like aida64)?
