Windows 10: How do I fix, Input Not Supported HDMI From laptop to Monitor?

[COLOR=rgba0, 0, 0, 1]I have a monitor hooked up to my laptop. It works fine as either extended display or mirrored. My laptop is set to do NOTHING when I close the lid. However, when I close the lid, it does nothing, but it also gives me a message on my monitor, "Input Not Supported", and gives me no picture before turning off, and does the same if I set it to only use my monitor. However, it was working just fine before I had to do a clean install of Windows. Any idea on how to fix it?[/COLOR]

HDMI Input Not Supported

HI,

I just recently bought a new laptop. I connected it to my second monitor through the hdmi port and it worked straight away.

After completing all the new updates the monitor stopped working and now is showing Input Not Supported error on 2nd monitor screen.

What can I do to fix it.

Does your laptop have HDMI input?

Only a very few laptops have HDMI input, HDMI on laptops is normally for sending a signal to an external monitor . .

We would like to suggest to contact your manufacturer of your monitor to ask for confirmation. Ask them if the monitor accepts HDMI input and output. Some laptops will not still convert video outputs, even if you use a VGA converter to HDMI.
