  1. How do I fix 'Intel High Definition Audio' device not detected in Windows after...

Hello Windows Community, I recently dual-booted my system with Ubuntu 24 alongside an existing Windows installation that was working fine. However, after setting up Ubuntu, I noticed that my Windows audio is not functioning properly. The Device Manager shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to 'Intel High Definition Audio' under Other devices, indicating that no audio device is installed. Here are the steps I've already taken: Checked Device Manager and attempted to update drivers using 'Search automatically for drivers'. This did not resolve the issue. Restarted the system s

  2. Intel High Definition Audio Driver

When I press the volume keys on my keyboard there is no display indicating this, and there is no sound through the laptop or the headphones. When I clicked on the volume icon a window opened and automatically scanned for hardware changes, detecting that
there had been none. In the device manager under other devices, Intel High Definition Audio, it says that the drivers are not installed for this device, and that ther are no compatible drivers for this device. I clicked on update drivers and was told there
were none for this device. I then went to the control panel and under the sound menu it says that there are no audio devices installed. What happened? The sound was working fine one minute and now it does not even exist on my laptop. I have tried the Intel
Driver and Support Assistant, but it did not detect any needed drivers for Intel High Definition Audio or that is is even present on my laptop, which it is on device manager. And only Intel Display Audio was even acknowledged on the driver update assistant.
    What can I do know?

Realtek High Definition Audio and High Definition Audio Device missing

    Hello,
    Basic info:
I'm using a Dell G5 15 gaming notebook with Windows 10 for about half a year. Pretty early on I got sound problems such as occasional static sound, static sound when playing yt video and a game at the same time and such. I found a fix to this by going to the Device Manager and changing High Definition Audio Device to Realtek High Definition Audio which would fix it for some time and then I'd have to do it again.
    Problem:
But now I don't have Realtek High Definition Audio nor High Definition Audio Device in the device manager, I only have Realtek Audio. ( and Intel display audio, NVIDIA high definition audio, NVIDIA virtual audio device, but I don't think these are relevant) So the sound is low quality, muffled and there's the occasional static sound. I tried installing Realtek High Definition Audio driver from the original Dell G5 15 site, so it should be compatible, the installation goes well, but there is no change in the actual audio. Looking for help on how to fix this. Thanks

Intel High Definition Audio is not working.

    https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Audio-Driver-Error

    Solved the problem for me.

Device Manager->System Devices->Intel Smart Sound Audio Controller (or similar)

Roll Back to "High Definition Audio Controller"

    Right Click-> Update Driver

Browse My Computer for driver software

Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

Select "High Definition Audio Controller" Next

Once installed reboot and problem should be solved.
