Windows 10: How do I fix keyboard delay?

When I'm playing games, my keyboard usually has delays. Sometimes they're in short spurts by delaying the inputs but also extending said input.Example: I want to move forwards for 1 second. So I hold the forward key for 1 second. Five seconds later, I'm walking for 13 seconds.It gets really annoying when using chat as well.Sometimes it doesn't even register inputs, but then blurts it all out in one singular go!I could type "Hello, I like playing this game" and while that took me 5 seconds, it would take 1 second PER CHARACTER.And before you ask, I have filter keys disabled.

I suggest you to follow the steps to open Device manager.

        Select Device Manager.
        
      • 
        Or, you may use the On Screen Keyboard.
        
      • 
        Right Click on Windows, Select Control Panel.
        
      • 
        Click on Ease of access center.
        
      • 
        Click on Screen Keyboard.

Keyboard Delay in Windows 10

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver. Follow the steps to uninstall & reinstall the keyboard driver from device manager.

• 
  Press Windows key + X from the
  Keyboard and click on Device Manager.
  
• 
  In Device Manager, double click on the
  Keyboard.
  
• 
  It will show you the device driver name, select that device and then right click on it.
  
• 
  Click on Uninstall button.
  
• 
  Restart the computer, the drivers will get automatically installed on your Windows 10.
  
• 
  Repeat the same for Mice and other pointing devices.

Keyboard delay

Hello.

It would be great to test your device with another keyboard. This could show the issue is keyboard or system.

Try the steps below:

- disconnect and connect keyboard again

- run hardware troubleshooter

- update keyboard driver

- delete keyboard for the device manager list, update it, drivers should be found by system
